The Colorado Institute for Leadership Training:

The Institute recognizes that leadership can take many forms.  CILT has graduated over 450 activists from our leadership-training program. These alumni have gone on to serve as state legislators, county chairs, county commissioners, school board members,  mayors, city council members, sheriffs and campaign managers. We define politics, however, as more than the art of getting elected to office.  Other alumni have chosen to become more active in policy discussions, their church, their neighborhood, their service organization, or their community.

The Class of 2008  represented the 18th year of the program.  Emerging  leaders, from all backgrounds, age groups, and regions of the state, participated in this class.

Each session deals with a different skill or subject and is held in a different part of the state.  Four of the classes in the 2008 class involved at least Friday night and Saturday day sessions, and the Garfield and Prowers County weekends involved Friday Night, Saturday, and Sunday. The Friday nights involved travelling late afternoon and into the evening to get to the destination.
