Calendar

In addition to CILT's annual statewide leadership program, the Institute has developed a wide range of programs and services including issue salons where one can discuss current issues, happy hours and networking events, alumni workshops, and social/cultural events such as theater tickets and Rockies games. Most of these events are open to the public. The actual classes, alumni workshops, and alumni retreats are reserved for CILT alumni and current class members. Click on the calendar below to learn of specific information about our programming.

To Sunday, August 16 2009 - 5:00pm
Every day

CILT will head to the San Luis Valley August 14 – 16. It is our opinion that one cannot lead the state without an understanding of this very unique region of Colorado. We will travel to the Crestone, Colorado on Friday Evening and meet in Crestone Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon we will travel to the Solar Array, then cross the Valley to South Fork. Saturday evening we have options of attending an event in South Fork or traveling a short way to Creede for the nationally renowned Creed Repertory Theater. Topics to be discussed include Ranching, San Luis Valley Water Issues, National Parks, Land Management, Land Conservation, and Rural K-12 issues. Lodging costs are not included in the tuition. We have the option of camping or staying in hotels in both Crestone and South Fork. Breakfast and Lunch is covered both days. Dinner will be arranged both Friday and Saturday Night.

Speakers include:

Fred Bunch, National Park Services; George Whitten and Julie Sullivan, Organic Ranchers; Saguache County Commissioner Linda Joseph;  Nancy Butler, Land Conservation;  Lesli Allison, Ranch Owner/Land Management, and Corey DeAngelis and Pat McDermott of the Colorado Division of Water Resources
