In addition to CILT's annual statewide leadership program, the Institute has developed a wide range of programs and services including issue salons where one can discuss current issues, happy hours and networking events, alumni workshops, and social/cultural events such as theater tickets and Rockies games. Most of these events are open to the public. The actual classes, alumni workshops, and alumni retreats are reserved for CILT alumni and current class members. Election Reform Salon
by lembleton
Hits : 232
Wednesday, April 19 2006, 6:00pm - 8:30pm

The 2000 and 2004 election cycles demonstrated the depth and breadth of problems voters across the country experience when they go to the polls to cast their ballots. Voters reported difficulties with voter registration, access to absentee ballots, malfunctioning or insufficient voting machines to irregularities in vote counting and, in some cases, voter intimidation. Ensuring fair, honest, and accurate elections is critical to restoring confidence in our election process.

Colorado Common Cause is working to ensure that necessary changes to our election laws are made to improve future elections in Colorado. Join Jenny Flanagan, Associate Director of Common Cause Colorado, for this important update and to learn what to look forward to in this election cycle. Vicki Rottman (CILT 2005) will host the salon at her home in Capitol Hill. The 05 salon on had tons of information about various election and campaign finance reform issues. Make sure to save the date. The cost to attend is $5 for CILT alumni and class members, and $10 for friends. Appetizers and beverages are provided. Please RSVP to Laura at cilt@comcast.net.
